Today, more than 122 million people worldwide have been displaced due to war, violence, and persecution and are in urgent need of UNHCR’s assistance. Entering 2025, UNHCR continues its humanitarian work in over 130 countries, providing emergency shelter, essential relief supplies, clean water, emergency protection, public health services, education, livelihood support, and mental health care to those affected by displacement.

Last year, significant reductions in global humanitarian funding posed serious challenges to UNHCR’s operations. Around the world, refugee assistance programs have been forced to scale back or suspend many activities, creating severe consequences for displaced communities. Under these difficult circumstances, your support has become more meaningful than ever, helping refugees maintain hope and move toward rebuilding their lives.
